NAME & LOCATION

The Brother Islands are a world famous scuba diving destination. and offer some of the best diving in Egypt and in Red Sea. These 2 Islands (Little Brother and Big Brother) are famous for their wonderful pristine coral as well as being one of the best places in Egypt to dive with Sharks!

In front of El Quseir far away at sea are the Brother Islands. A big one with a light house and a small one that are connected by a deep ledge. Two stunning sites that offer a thresher shark cleaning station, 2 wrecks, wall diving and drifting and a fair chance to see different species of sharks.

BIODIVERSITY

These offshore reefs have some plateaus and mostly dramatic walls that fall into very deep water. As the water temperatures are not too hot the currents can bring you loads of shark life. the Longimanus under the boats, a single hammerhead along the reef, a silky coming from the blue, the thresher shark circling below or on a cleaning station, even the tiger shark can appear.

BIG BROTHER ISLAND

Recognized by het light house, Big Brother Island is home to the Numibi and the Aida in the north east where the reef does not quite reach the surface. In the south a plateau that holds a cleaning station where Thresher sharks can be found early morning. Grey reefs do a fly by and white tip reef sharks carefully comets have a look. The area around the boats is know to attract the Longimanus and the currents can bring us any shark we can think about. Even the whaleshark is know to appear here during the late summer.

All dives are done either from the back of the boat or by zodiac and divers should be very comfortable in handling currents and depth. But there is much more than 2 wreck dive sites and sharks. The reef itself is quite dramatic, big cracks and overhangs and loads of small treasures to be found there. From nudibranchs to baby barracuda, octopus, turtle. It is all there.

SMALL BROTHER ISLAND

Just 1 kilometer away from Big we find Small Brother Island. We dive either from the back of the boat or by zodiac. On this Island you can find a cleaning station for sharks on the tip of the north plateau, a fan coral garden on the South East corner and a large slope in the south. Currents and waves can be quite challenging out here, making awesome diving and chance of anything including the Manta, however divers should be comfortable with currents, big waves, depth and the zodiac.

Small Brother Island is only 1 kilometer away from Big Brother and an absolute must if you love blue dives and wall dives or are seeking sharks.
